AmericanWest Bank and PremierWest Bank have announced that PremierWest Bank will merge with, and become a part of, AmericanWest Bank, creating a larger collective presence throughout the West Coast. The merger is pursuant to the definitive agreement for the transaction, pending regulatory and shareholder approval.
AmericanWest Bank is committed to establishing a presence throughout the West Coast. PremierWest Bank is an exceptional bank with exceptional people who understand what it means to be a community bank—to consistently deliver outstanding customer service, to work as a team toward a common goal, and to give something back to the community through hands-on involvement. We share a common set of values that drive our business practices, and our partnership will provide benefits for customers, employees, and communities. Merging PremierWest Bank will significantly further our growth goals and move us toward becoming a high-performing, business-focused community bank.
By partnering with AmericanWest Bank, PremierWest becomes part of a financially strong bank with excellent capital levels. After the merger is complete, PremierWest employees can return their energy to providing outstanding service to customers, with more resources and a focus on expanding products and services throughout the combined territory. The management team and employees of AmericanWest Bank look forward to welcoming the employees and customers of PremierWest Bank and are excited about a very bright future.
With any merger there are changes; however, you can count on working with the same professional staff as always at the PremierWest Bank locations. In the coming weeks and months, you will receive more information on the merger, including details on expanded products and services. On behalf of the Board and management team, I offer you my sincere thanks for your business and look forward to expanding our relationship with you.
