How can I save a million dollars?

Every day is an opportunity to teach kids about money management

Thank you for your interest in Community Connections!

This special program is a partnership with KNDO/KNDU TV and available to Washington state non-profit organizations serving the communities in their viewing audience, including the Walla Walla Valley, Dayton, Waitsburg, Tri-Cities, Yakima Valley, Prosser and Sunnyside.

There are many wonderful organizations dedicated to assisting others—from meeting the basic needs of the community to enhancing the quality of life we all enjoy. AmericanWest Bank and KNDO/KNDU-TV are committed to being strong community partners.

We understand funding for advertising is often the missing element that can assist you in achieving greater success and growing your programs. Community Connections was designed to fill that need and assist you in your good works.

Each year, 22 or more organizations are selected to participate in Community Connections. If selected, you will receive:
  • :30 public service announcement written and produced by station professionals in partnership with your team.
  • One full month of advertising—your spot will run a minimum of 200 times with preferred placement.
  • A copy of your PSA on DVD.
All costs are underwritten by AmericanWest Bank and KNDO/KNDU. The estimated in-kind contribution to each non-profit exceeds $3,000.

To apply, simply fill out the online application and submit it by January 20, 2013.

Please keep in mind your event or topic must be conducive to sharing via television so let that guide you as you complete the application.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee of AmericanWest Bank and KNDO/KNDU employees and ranked by set criteria. The application questions are designed to assist the committee in understanding your specific event, project or program. In recent years we've received an average of 180 applicants and we are committed to providing each one with careful consideration. To do this, please allow us a few weeks to thoroughly review all applications and you can expect to hear the results by February 11.

We look forward to receiving your application!
